Partner Spotlight: Oklahoma Youth Literacy Program

The Oklahoma Youth Literacy Program (OKYLP) has been serving the Oklahoma City community since 2014. The mission of the organization is the commitment to creating excellence in the lives of children as it relates to making a direct impact on their life skills through personal guidance, literacy, and team building athletics.

OKYLP joined the Public Health Institute of Oklahoma and The University of Oklahoma Health Science Center’s Oklahoma Clinical and Translational Science Institute as a part of project CATCH-UP to host a COVID-19 testing and community resource event in March 2021. Like so many CATCH-UP partners, OKYLP stepped up to support the overall pandemic response and to help mitigate its impact on vulnerable populations and healthcare systems, while ensuring that societies and economies can continue to function.

This energetic and mission-driven group inspired our team with their connection to their community and dedication to a literacy empowered youth.

OKYLP will host their next CATCH-UP Community event on Saturday, July 10th with free PCR testing and Antibody testing for COVID-19, in addition to providing food and community resources. Learn more
